State water board issues revised drought regulations

Responding to hundreds of comments from California water users and suppliers, the State Water Resources Control Board modified proposed conservation restrictions Saturday, reducing cuts for communities that have worked to save water and increasing water cutbacks for those that haven't.

Some communities “have achieved remarkable results with residential water use now hovering around the statewide target … while others are using many times more,” the board said in a prepared statement.
