1. Bowe Bergdahl, the Army sergeant who walked off his post in Afghanistan in 2009 and ended up a Taliban captive for almost five years, could face life in prison. A top commander ordered a court-martial for Sergeant Bergdahl, 29, on desertion charges. In doing so, he overrode the Army’s own investigating officer, who said the sergeant had been delusional.
