World Bank chief: Slow growth hurts poverty battle

The head of the World Bank said Monday that slow global economic growth could imperil the institution's goal of virtually ending extreme poverty by 2030.

"We agree that economic growth is disappointing once again," Jim Yong Kim told reporters in a conference call. Kim previewed a speech he's slated to deliver Tuesday morning ahead of next week's International Monetary Fund-World Bank spring meetings.
