Women at a Higher Risk for Depression and Anxiety after Heart Attack

Researchers from Lithuania have carried out a study which suggests that women are more prone to suffer from anxiety and depression following a heart attack compared to men. It also points out that women suffering from depression already could be at a higher risk of death after heart attack than women without depression.

A team of researchers led by Professor Pranas Seryptis investigated 160 patients admitted to the Vilnius University Hospital Santariskiu Clinics in Lithuania with heart attack.
