Why Do Women With Type 1 Diabetes Die More Often Than Diabetic Men?

A new study published in the Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology has found that women with type 1 diabetes have a 37% increased chance of death than men with the same condition. The study, which analyzed 26 diabetes studies dating back to 1965, also found that the women had more than double the risk of dying from heart disease that the men did.
