Western Wisconsin Residents facing Troubles from Mayflies

National Weather Service detected a huge flock of mayflies Sunday night. These shadflies are emerging from the Mississippi River between Wisconsin and Minnesota. These flies are bound to move towards northern region due to wind. Scientists say swarms of these flies are so large that these can be recorded on the radar.

Roads of Wisconsin were covered with greasy and slimy insects, becoming cause for a road accident. After hatching, these flies spend first year buried in the debris at the riverbed. Later, they appear in huge heap where they shed their exoskeletons, mate lay eggs and finally die after that. Mayflies...
