Health officials announced that four new cases of West Nile Virus have been reported since last week. Two cases are from Northwest Louisiana. The virus has killed a person in the state, the health officials confirmed.
A report by the LA DHH suggested that three of the newly reported cases are neuroinvasive (NID), a serious but less common form of the disease. NID could affect brain or surrounding tissue of the patients, as per the report.
