Colorado witnessed most of the cases of the West Nile virus in August, September and October. This is the time of the year when rains arrive in this area. Though these rains help keep Colorado green, concerns about the spread of West Nile virus also rises.

An investigation in about eight Colorado counties has found the virus in mosquitoes i. e. they are responsible for the spread of the West Nile virus.
