Weather agency says July was hottest month on record in Spain, with high of 113.4 F in Cordoba

MADRID – Spain's national weather agency says July was the country's hottest month on record.

In statement Wednesday, the AEMET agency said the average temperature in Spain last month was 26.5 degrees Celsius (79.7 Fahrenheit). The agency said August 2003 had previously been the hottest month on record with an average temperature of 26.2 C (79.2 F).
