Water running off Ice Sheet into Sea

A new study has revealed that several little-understood rivers and streams flowing on top of the massive ice sheet that cover about 80% of Greenland could be significantly contributing to sea level rise.

The contribution to sea level rise from water flowing off river and streams on top of the huge ice is equivalent to the combined contribution of the ice sheet's aquamarine lakes and monster chunks of ice that slide into the ocean to become icebergs, found the study.
