What to Watch on Sunday: ‘Saul,’ ‘Jinx’ and the Grammys

Better Call Saul (10 p.m., AMC) – It’s the series “Breaking Bad” fans have been waiting for. This prequel-spinoff focuses on the story of Walter White’s lawyer, Saul Goodman ( Bob Odenkirk), six years before that infamous blue meth hit Albuquerque. In the opener, Saul is actually Jimmy McGill, a public defender trying to do the right thing. As with “Breaking Bad’s” examination of the moral unraveling of Walter White, this series will show Good Jimmy’s transformation into Sketchy Saul, but the tone will be decidedly lighter. The series moves to it’s regular Mondays at 10 p.m. timeslot tomorrow.

NC Bookwatch (Noon, UNC-TV) – NC native Jason Mott shares the experience of his debut novel, “The Returned,” which was the basis for ABC’s “Resurrection” series. He also discusses his new book, “The Wonder of All Things,” whish has been optioned for a film.
