Watch the First Trailer for the Kurt Cobain Documentary Montage of Heck

At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Brett Morgen (On the Ropes, The Kid Stays in the Picture) premiered the first fully authorized documentary about Kurt Cobain. Titled Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck after a mixtape created by the late Nirvana front man that Morgen found in storage, and executive produced by the musician’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, the film is an electric, sensory-stimulating portal inside the mind of the grunge rocker, courtesy of a trove of Cobain’s drawings, journals, audio tapes, and personal home movies. As previously reported, Morgen enlisted animators to bring some of Cobain’s drawings to life, and to illustrate some of the musician’s spoken-word musings that were left behind on audio tapes.

In the U.K. trailer for the film, viewers get a sneak peak at all of the above, plus concert footage and interviews with Cobain’s friends and family.
