The European Space Agency's environment monitoring satellite lifts off at 9:00 p.m. EDT

Tonight at 9:52 p.m. EDT, the European Space Agency will launch its Sentinel-2A observatory from Kourou, French Guiana. Rocketing to orbit aboard a Vega launch vehicle, it will be the first of two Earth-observing satellites. The Sentinel-2B will launch roughly one year from now.
