The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a warning this week that tropical Pacific and Indian Oceans' warm water has sparked the widespread coral bleaching across the world this year. This has occurred for the third time in less than 10 years.
Reefs are one of the world's most important ecosystems that support around 4,000 fish species, more than any other marine environment. They are very important to sustain a lot of coastal communities that thrive on the $375 billion per year. These are reaped through diving, fishing and tourism.
