VATICAN CITY — Observant Catholics, Nathalie and Christian Mignonat have worked for years in France with people who are divorced and remarried without an annulment, what the church calls “irregular unions.”
So when they had their chance to speak to the 270 bishops who have gathered at the Vatican to discuss family issues, they did not fail to raise concern about what place these Catholics can hope for in the church today.
