Cancer Research UK said that important opportunities to diagnose cancer patients in England timely are being missed. Owing to it, their chance of increased survival is also being missed. It assessed cases in 2012 and 2013 and found huge differences in areas.
Amongst all, Merseyside was the worst area because of late diagnosis as half of cancer cases have been diagnosed in late stage. On the other hand, 40% of cancer cases were diagnosed late in Bath, Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.
