MONTPELIER – Republican leaders in the Vermont Legislature are calling for a federal investigation of the state's spending on its health overhaul, including Vermont's contract with health economist Jonathan Gruber.
The call by Senate Minority Leader Joe Benning and House Minority Leader Don Turner on Tuesday followed a state auditor's report saying Gruber may have padded bills to the state for his work in helping to develop the now abandoned plan for a universal, publicly funded health care system for Vermont.
