Vaccine Controversy Intensified With Disneyland Measles Outbreak

Last year the nation witnessed a 350 percent increase in the cases of measles and this intensified the controversy of vaccination against measles. The outbreak began at Disneyland and as of Friday, 41 cases have been confirmed, which includes 10 in San Diego County. The affected individuals were not vaccinated against the disease and the outbreak has raised public attention towards the issue of immunization.

Health officials in Southern California are urging the infected individuals to get proper treatments and they are also recommending tracking of the movements of infected individuals through public places like schools, malls, churches and supermarkets.
