Women with a history of hormonal contraceptive use are more likely to develop Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during pregnancy, a new study revealed.

Researchers analyzed the records of 2,741 women from the Missouri Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System in 2007 and 2008 to establish how contraceptives influence GDM.
