A new study has unveiled about increasing use of antimicrobials in livestock production across the world. As per the study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, in 2010, livestock producers across the globe used more than sixty three thousand tons of antibiotics. If the current pattern continues then the number will increase by 67% in the next 15 years.
Also, the number would increase by double-fold in countries like Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa and China. The researchers said that the situation indicates about the high demand for meat worldwide.
