U.S. stocks are mostly rising in afternoon trading Tuesday as investors react to mixed corporate earnings. JPMorgan Chase jumped after reporting first-quarter results that beat expectations. Energy companies rose the most as oil prices climbed. Bond prices also rose.
KEEPING SCORE: The Dow Jones industrial average was up 58 points, or 0.3 percent, to 18,034 as of 2:01 p.m. Eastern time. The S&P 500 was up two points at 2,094. The Nasdaq composite fell 18 points, or 0.4 percent, to 4,970.
