US Section Of ISS Evacuated Due To Ammonia Spill

The US part of the International Space Station has been evacuated owing to the probable leakage of a toxic gas. The alarm sounded around 9am GMT on Wednesday following which two Americans and an Italian astronaut took refuge in the Russian part of the station. The sensor has detected a possible ammonia spill from the cooling system.

On hearing the alarm, the crew moved to the Russian part wearing masks for their safety. However, NASA has stated that the alarm was false and probably sounded due to a defected sensor or computer system.
