US Air Force Invites Private Bid Applications for space launch services

For the first time in several decades, the U. S. Air Force released the first of the eight bid applications for space launch services outside of its controversial and exclusive multibillion-dollar agreement with United Launch Alliance.

This bid is for a rocket that is needed in 2016 to put a classified satellite into orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office, which operates the nation's spy satellites.
