WASHINGTON, April 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted to limit debate on the nomination of Loretta Lynch to become President Barack Obama's next attorney general in a procedural move intended to end a five-month deadlock that made her wait longer for confirmation than the last seven attorneys general combined.

If confirmed as expected, Lynch would be the first black woman to become the top U.S. law enforcement official.
