STOCKHOLM Aug 16 Handelsbanken, one of Sweden's biggest banks, on Tuesday fired its chief executive Frank Vang-Jensen after little more than a year in the job, saying his leadership style didn't suit the bank's decentralised model.

One of Europe's most successful and conservative banks, Handelsbanken said the head of its British operations, Anders Bouvin, would replace Vang-Jensen with immediate effect.
