Underwater volcanoes are generally unobtrusive - but volcanic-ups may affect climate change, according to new research.

The flare ups are triggered by changes in the Earth's orbit and sea levels, meaning they occur in regular cycles lasting anywhere from two weeks to 100,000 years, writes Nature World News.
