KAMPALA, April 9 (Reuters) - The Ugandan shilling extended gains on Thursday for a second straight day, helped by tight local currency liquidity and a policy tightening move by the central bank.

At 0810 GMT commercial banks quoted the shilling at 2,965/2,975, stronger than Wednesday's close of 2,980/2,990.
