(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks declined amid a retreat among industrial and health-care companies, trimming a ninth straight quarterly advance for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index.

Caterpillar Inc., Boeing and United Technologies Corp. fell more than 1.1 percent. The Nasdaq Biotechnology Index slipped 1.5 percent, paring its best quarterly gain since 2013.
