U.S. Forest Service Agrees to Stop Tree-Thinning Project: Report

Tree-thinning project at Lake Tahoe has been put on hold for the time being. A lawsuit has been filed against the project raising concern about an endangered frog species.

The U. S. Forest Service has been removing and burning trees and bushes to decrease the risk of wildfire at Lake Tahoe. This area is considered to be a habitat for the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog, which is an endangered species.
