WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded a $1.05 billion contract to multiple companies to support its Design, Development, Demonstration, and Integration Domain 3 program.

The program, also known as D3I, aims to enhance the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Forces Strategic Command's defensive capabilities.
