Two Syrian refugee families heading to Texas despite state lawsuit

WASHINGTON — The federal government is moving forward with plans to relocate two Syrian refugee families in Texas next week despite a lawsuit seeking to halt the resettlement.

In a court filing Friday, the Justice Department said two Syrian families would arrive in Texas on Monday: A family of six in Dallas and a family of eight in Houston Each family has children under the age of 13; one family is also accompanied by their grandparents.
