Two Studies Identify new Mesozoic Mammals

It seems like prehistoric fossils are just itching to get discovered lately as two more species have recently been identified. What it is interesting is that while most of the other recent discoveries have been of large reptiles, the two most recent were of mammals believed to have lived during the Mesozoic period.

“Before the 2000s, it was generally thought Mesozoic mammals could not diversify much in the dinosaur-dominated ecosystem,” Zhe-Xi Luo, professor of organismal biology and anatomy at the University of Chicago.
