As part of an unprecedented study of identical twins, one astronaut and his retired-astronaut twin brother will participate in a unique space study investigating the effects of prolonged weightlessness.

Astronaut Scott Kelly will be leaving for a one-year space station mission next spring, while his twin Mark remains on Earth. Scientists will perform medical tests on the brothers before, during and after the American-record-setting flight, The AP reports.
