VMAs cool. Though it drew record Twitter traffic, the Miley Cyrus-hosted Video Music Awards hit an all-time low on MTV (5 million viewers Sunday, down from 8.3 million last year and 10.1 million in 2013) but claimed a total of 9.8 million when sibling-network simulcasts are counted, compared to a combined 10.3 million last year. The VMAs peaked in 2011 with 12.4 million on MTV alone.
Summer wrapups: TNT's Falling Skies (2,4 million same-day viewers Sunday) and Murder in the First (1.8 million Monday) called it quits, while USA's Suits (2.3 million Wednesday), MTV's Teen Wolf (958,000) and Lifetime's Devious Maids (1.5 million, both Monday) ended their seasons.
