ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the United Nations Security Council to meet urgently to discuss the situation in Egypt where over 300 people were reported killed as police smashed two protest camps of supporters of the deposed Islamist president.

Erdogan on Thursday also said Egypt's leaders should stand trial "in a fair and transparent way" for the police action he said amounted to a "massacre."
