Troubled sea turtle recovers at Oregon aquarium

A young sea turtle, affected by cold and choppy waters off the coast of Washington state, is now recovering in Oregon. ‘Solstice’ was spotted on the beach close to the north end of the Long Beach Peninsula on December 21, during winter solstice. It is a 40 to 50-pound female olive ridley turtle, which was found dehydrated, with her body temperature about 15 degrees below the usual 75 degrees.

Solstice's is being looked after by its caretakers, who are treating her with fluids, hydration baths and practice swims.
