TRLPC-Asia Pacific first quarter lending hits three-year low

March 31 (Reuters Basis Point) - Excluding Japan, first quarter syndicated lending in Asia Pacific of $67 billion is the lowest quarterly volume for three years and is 40 percent lower than the first three months of 2014, according to Thomson Reuters LPC data.

Lower dealflow across the region boosted bank competition and put pressure on loan pricing, which is starting to benefit borrowers from India and Indonesia, as Asia Pacific's larger markets of Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore remain quiet.
