Travel Tips: Why It Pays to Be Patient

Tim Gurner is the founder and chief executive of property-development company Gurner, which is building luxury apartments in Brisbane inspired by New York’s Flatiron Building. The 32-year-old Melbourne-based Australian spoke with the Journal about avoiding coffee in Asia, losing his passport (and more) in Shanghai, and why a certain hotel in Kuala Lumpur is dear to his family.

At least once a week at the moment, so probably five times a month. We sell a lot of apartments through China and Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, so I spend a lot of time there.
