Total lunar eclipse “Blood Moon”

A rare event happened on Tuesday when the Earth’s shadow fell across the moon and turned it orange. This was witnessed by few parts of the world. This was the first total lunar eclipse after December 2011. The lunar eclipse unfolded over 3 hours which began at 0453GMT. An hour later the moon was seen in orange and brown colors.

The celestial even happens when the earth’s shadow falls on the earth shifting its colors from orange to red to brown which depends upon the weather conditions.
