A tiny songbird has been tracked for flying nonstop over the Atlantic for more than 2770 kilometers from northeastern United States to the Caribbean. The songbird (blackpoll warbler) weighs only 12 grams and the flight carries lot of risks for the small bird.
During the winter migration to South America, the songbird was tracked during a study that began in summer 2013. The study group attached tracking devices to the songbirds and tracked them during their migration from eastern Canada and northeastern United States to South America.
