NEW YORK (MarketWatch)—The 87th Academy Awards ceremony kicks off from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood at 8.30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, or 5.30 Pacific and will be broadcast live on the ABC television network, but red-carpet coverage will start on many channels at 7 Eastern.
Tony Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris will take over hosting duties this year from comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. It’s his first time hosting. Last year, DeGeneres took a selfie that has been retweeted over 3.3 million times and ‘favorited’ over 2 million times.
