Three Cigarettes a Day Could Increase HPV Risk

A new study has mysteriously linked tobacco smoking to HPV. Not that the former causes the latter, just that it seems tobacco smokers are more likely to develop the Human Papillomavirus (HPV16)—the oral HPV.

Researchers still do not know why this is so, but they mention that as few as three daily cigarettes is enough to increase HPV infection risk by at least one-third.
