WASHINGTON, DC (NBC) - A weekend threat against one of the nation's largest malls is highlighting the need for Homeland Security, but their money may run out this week if Congress doesn't act.

Part of Homeland Security's $40 billion budget helps protect public places like the Mall of America - mentioned by name in the latest al-Shabbab video threatening shopping areas around the world.
