Thai satellite spots 300 objects; bad weather continues to thwart search

PERTH — A Thai satellite has detected 300 floating objects in the southern Indian Ocean, where an international air search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 was yesterday thwarted by high winds, severe turbulence and near-zero visibility.

Thailand’s Geo Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISDA) said the objects — between 2m and 16m in length — were spotted around 2,700km south-west of Perth by the Thaichote satellite on Monday.
