One of horrors most memorable scream queens is sadly silent today, as actress Marilyn Burns has died. Rising to instant cult stardom as the female lead in Tobe Hoopers seminal 1974 thriller The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Burns lived most of her life offscreen, but will forever be remembered by film fans everywhere. She was 65 years old.
Her death was first reported by TMZ, who said a family member found Burns inside of her Texas home on Tuesday, August 5. As of now, no cause of death has been made official, and the Medical Examiners Office in Houston will reportedly be performing an autopsy to determine what happened.
