Test failure shouldn't deter development of hypersonic weapon, Rep. Mike Rogers says

Rogers, R-Saks, acknowledged the Monday morning failure of the Advanced Hypersonic Weapon is a "setback," for the program designed to give the U.S. quick-strike conventional capabilities.

"Rocket science isn't easy," said Rogers, chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces subcommittee. "Much like the first attempts at powered flight didn't succeed, (the) test didn't accomplish what we hoped."
