WASHINGTON – A militant leader who orchestrated a series of deadly terror attacks in Pakistan, including a 2014 assault at a school that left more than 130 children dead, was killed by a U.S. airstrike in neighboring Afghanistan, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
The July 9 airstrike killed Umar Khalifa and four other “enemy combatants” in Nangarhar province, which borders Pakistan.
