Teens that sleep badly develop risky sexual and alcohol behaviors, study says

A study published in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research has shown that teenagers with bad sleep habits are more likely to develop risky behaviors that border on alcohol abuse and sexual risks later in life than those that sleep soundly as teens.

Over 6,500 adolescents in the United States were analyzed and tracked for sleep pattern, alcohol and drug use between 1994 and 2002, and researchers were able to find that poor sleep habits are early signs of alcoholic, drug, and sexual risk problems that might develop later in life.
