Teen Pregnancy Rate Reduced in Augusta

Teen birth rate has dropped dramatically over the past two decades nationwide and in particular in Augusta. But still rates of the most effective contraceptive use is low in states like Georgia in spite of extra training and overcoming costs have dramatically increased their use at some clinics in Augusta according to health officials.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that teen births dropped 57 percent since 1991 from 61.8 per 1000 girls aged between 15-19 to 26.4 per 1000 girls.
