Teal-painted pumpkins raising awareness about food allergies this Halloween

A house with a blue-tinted pumpkin out front is a welcome symbol for trick-or-treaters with food allergies, as many traditional candies aren’t safe for kids with sensitivities. Food allergies affect one out of every 13 kids in the U.S.

Households across the U.S. this Halloween are displaying hand-painted teal-colored pumpkins on their porches and lawns, a signal that children with food allergies can safely trick-or-treat there.
